Green Spring

Green Spring ist my first ever painting. Between 2005 and 2010 I studied Architecture in my home town Öskemen and I picked up painting much later, already in Vienna. I started with acrylics and after a couple of years of trying to unlearn technical drawing I managed to open my mind enough to produce this imaginative landscape. I took inspiration from Gustav Klimt (very traditional for Vienna :). In April 2023 Belvedere gallery was exhibiting a piece called “Irrlichter”, 1903 (Privatsammlung, courtesy of Masha Faurschou) and I was amazed by the layered glaze that imitated the fog so lively. This effect I replicated the best I could in this work.
